James Zhang is a Managing Director in Blackstone Alternative Asset Management (BAAM), where he leads BAAM's Institutional Client Solutions team in Asia ex-Japan.

BAAM provides access to alternative investment strategies including hedge fund solutions, special situations, manager seeding and GP stakes.

Before joining Blackstone in 2023, Mr. Zhang was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he was head of the Hong Kong & Taiwan Client Business. He was responsible for advising institutional clients on asset management solutions across the firm's private and public investing platforms, including alternative investments, equities, fixed income and liquidity management.

Mr. Zhang received a BA from the University of Notre Dame and is a CFA charterholder.
